A drain inspection is performed by sending down a specially designed drain camera. This is essentially a CCTV (or closed circuit TV) system with a camera placed at the end of a long flexible rod. The operator pushes this rod down the drain to view the entire length of the pipe. If they identify any problem areas, they will record it for future playback (allowing them to work out the best repair solution) and work out the exact location.
Before we had drain cameras a plumber had to take a rough guess to what and where the problem is and then start digging. With a CCTV drain inspection camera, we can easily work out exactly what and where the problem is and then work out the best solution to fix this; all without having to dig your property. Then in most cases, Melbourne Civil & Structural Engineers Plumbing contractors can fix the problem without digging. That will not only save you money in many instances but more importantly the inconvenience.
What will CCTV drain inspections identify?
Plumbing inspections will not only identify blockages but also whether the pipe has deteriorated in any areas which could lead to issues in the near future. Some of the specific problems a CCTV pipe inspection can identify are:
- blocked drains
- cracked drains
- tree root intrusion
- squashed pipes
- deterioration of pipes
- foreign objects causing blockages
inspection can also be used to accurately locate drainage pipes on your property.
Once our plumbing contractors have identified any issues, we can recommend the best solution.
We are extremely grateful and happy with Adam. Adam did a structural inspection and cracks inspection on our recently purchased property and went through the house very thoroughly. Adam was patient, gave us honest opinion and recommendation for fixes, things to be done when we move in and answered lots of our questions. We spent the whole 2 hours and would definitely recommend Adam and use his service again in the future. Thank you Adam.
